Requirements: Students must have between 6.0 - 12.5 on a Tabe D Reading test and between a 5.0 - 12.5 on a Tabe D Math test, a high school diploma or GED, and pass a background check.
Length & Hours: This class lasts for 14 - 15 weeks and is held Monday - Friday from 10:45 am - 12:15 pm.
Registration: Registration is in person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am - 11:30 am or 2 pm - 5:30 pm.
Certification: Upon completion of this class, the student will be prepared for the ParaPro Certification exam for Teacher Assistant or Educational Assistant. The test is a PearsonVue test and is made up of 90 question on reading, math, and grammar.
Next steps: Completion of this class allows the student the opportunity to job shadow as a teacher assistant or educational assistant in the St. Paul public schools. This may lead to being hired by the St. Paul Public Schools.

Certification: Upon completion of 9 modules, students will receive the NCCER Certification.

Brief description:

This class helps students with test-taking and study skills. BIOL 1730 is a challenging class that moves along quickly and demands a lot of time and effort. The support class reviews the material at a slower pace, allowing for greater retention and understanding.

This class is held at St. Paul College with bridging and support through International Institute staff.
